As the maritime industry enters a decisive decade for decarbonization, the pathway forward remains complex and uncertain. Regulatory pressure from the EU, evolving IMO direction, rising fuel costs, and energy security concerns—combined with increasing expectations from cargo owners and passengers—are accelerating the need for practical, scalable solutions.

While investment in LNG continues as a transition pathway, and the industry waits for viable zero-carbon fuels, one theme is clear: energy efficiency is the most immediate, cost-effective and scalable enabler of decarbonisation.

Across all vessel segments—particularly in cruise—improvements in operations, digital decision-making, and vessel design can deliver meaningful emissions reductions today, while preparing fleets for future fuel transitions.

This event will bring together leading UK and Norwegian maritime stakeholders to explore how technology, operational excellence and collaboration can unlock these opportunities. From deep-sea shipping fuel pathways to cruise-sector innovation in efficiency, training, and digital tools, discussions will reflect both global dynamics and UK–Norway specific opportunities.

Building on the Green Industrial Partnership, the event will showcase Norwegian capabilities while actively engaging UK shipowners, operators, and stakeholders—creating a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and tangible commercial opportunities.
