Arrangementsinformasjon

The Energy Transition is happening but requires effort to accelerate progress. The UK and Norway have the potential to drive this acceleration by working together to combine our collective strengths in skills, technologies, financing and project management.

The UK has some of the most ambitious emissions reduction targets globally, and Norway has the resources and emerging technologies to support the United Kingdom in achieving its goal.

Norway and the UK have been close partners for many decades, particularly in driving the energy sector forward. Energetic Future seeks to enhance that partnership, providing opportunities for organisations to hear about progress as well as ongoing challenges whilst interacting to share capabilities and solutions.

You will be able to network with attendees ranging from regional and local government, policymakers and politicians to energy companies and suppliers from both Norway and the UK; investor companies; British and Norwegian clusters; industry bodies/organisations; academia, accelerators and incubators.

Join us for two days of practical and pragmatic business development at the prestigious venue, St James’ Park. This event offers a wealth of B2B networking opportunities, insightful site visits, and a dynamic roundtable discussion, all aimed at fostering meaningful connections and business growth. The main conference will present innovative ideas showcasing successful collaboration projects, providing a platform for sharing skills and talents across various industries.

In addition, the event will address supply chain issues and opportunities, providing attendees with the knowledge and tools to navigate and optimise their supply chains. The presence of political delegations will further enhance the dialogue between business leaders and policymakers, fostering a collaborative environment for economic development.

Don’t miss this chance to connect, learn, and grow in an inspiring environment designed to foster collaboration and development.

SESSION 1: Skills & Talent Pipeline for the Green Transition.

Skills and Talent Pipeline for the Energy Transition, leveraging UK/Norway collaboration for the green transition. While existing skills are being utilised, there’s a need to strengthen the engineering talent pipeline to meet net-zero targets in energy and maritime by 2030 and 2050. This session will explore some of the areas where this can be enhanced and examples of where it is happening now.

SESSION 2: ONSHORE: Grid, Clusters, Renewables.

Understanding the scale of onshore infrastructure change required and the context for onshore industrial decarbonisation are key to the success of the energy transition in both Norway and the UK. This session aims to focus on these areas whilst also seeking to explore synergies between the two markets, interfaces and to encourage greater cooperation.

SESSION 3: Innovation - AI, Digital & Tech.

The UK is on a journey of change. Novel digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), are starting to become embedded into organisational ways of working, driving unprecedented levels of transformation, and the energy sector is at the centre of this. There is a collective belief that achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 is only possible through innovation and digitalisation. This session will focus on understanding how areas such as technology, innovation and digital transformation can be driven forward to support the acceleration of the energy transition.

SESSION 4: OFFSHORE: Ports & Maritime, Energy Transition

Offshore energy transition activities in the North Sea are forecast to grow significantly in the decades ahead. This session will explore the inter-relationships between legacy and new energy project activities along with emissions reduction/removal and consider the impact on the ports and maritime sectors.
