Tom Standage, Deputy Editor of The Economist and Editor of its future-gazing annual, The World Ahead.
Tom joined The Economist as science correspondent in 1998 and was subsequently appointed technology editor, business editor and digital editor. He is the author of seven history books, including “Writing on the Wall” (2013), “The Victorian Internet” (1998) and “A History of the World in 6 Glasses” (2005). He studied engineering and computing at Oxford University and has written for other publications including the New York Times, Daily Telegraph, Guardian and Wired, taking a particular interest in technology’s cultural and historical significance.

Tore Hattrem, Norwegian Ambassador to the UK
Tore is a Norwegian diplomat and politician for the Conservative Party. In 2018 he was appointed as the Permanent Under-Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the top civil servant in the ministry. He formerly served as State Secretary and as Permanent Representative of Norway to the United Nations in New York, and was President of the Executive Board in 2018.Since 2023, Hattrem has been Norway’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Bjarne Schieldop, Chief Analyst, Commodities, SEB
Bjarne has close to 30 years’ experience from commodity markets. He has worked with analysis, market modelling, structured deals as well as trading of commodities for large commodity trading companies like Enron and Cargill. He worked as a carbon market analyst for Point Carbon from 2005 to 2008 when the EU carbon market came to life. He has held the position as Chief Analyst Commodities in SEB covering energy, emissions, metals, agricultural products as well as precious metals since 2008. Bjarne has a Master of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Oslo.
